RIFF 2025 - Rajagiri International Film Festival 2025

The Department of Animation & Graphic Design, in association with the Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA), proudly presents the Rajagiri International Film Festival RIFF 2025 .
Venue: Rajagiri College of Management & Applied Sciences (RCMAS), Kakkanad

The three-day festival will showcase a vibrant mix of national and international films, documentaries, panel discussions, and masterclasses, bringing together filmmakers, students, and cine enthusiasts on one platform.

Skill Enhancement Programs - Layout Workshop

The Layout Workshop, conducted as part of the Skill Enhancement Programs, aims to strengthen students’ understanding of visual composition, spatial design, and storytelling through layout. This hands-on session introduces industry-relevant techniques in framing, perspective, and element placement, helping students create effective and engaging visual narratives for animation, comics, advertising, and digital media.

Experiential Learning - Photography Workshop (Photography Day)

Organized in celebration of Photography Day, this hands-on workshop offers students an immersive learning experience in the art and technique of photography. Through practical sessions on lighting, composition, framing, and camera handling, students explore creative expression while gaining a deeper understanding of visual storytelling. The workshop encourages experimentation and critical observation, bridging theory with real-world application.

RIFF - 2025 (Rajagiri International Film Festival)

RIFF 2025 is a vibrant celebration of global cinema, organized by the Department of Animation and Graphic Design in association with the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. The festival showcases powerful visual storytelling from around the world and serves as a dynamic platform for students, filmmakers, and cinephiles to engage in film screenings, panel discussions, and workshops. Through this collaboration, RIFF promotes cultural exchange, cinematic excellence, and the social impact of cinema, inspiring the next generation of visual storytellers.

Community Storytelling - Record Oral Histories from Locals (Observation Trip)

As part of an observation trip, students engage in community storytelling by recording oral histories from local residents, preserving voices, memories, and traditions that often go undocumented. This experiential activity deepens their understanding of grassroots narratives and enhances their skills in listening, documentation, and visual storytelling, while fostering empathy and a strong connection to cultural heritage.

Community Engagement and Outreach

Community Engagement and Outreach initiatives aim to connect students with society through creative projects that address local needs and promote social awareness. By participating in activities such as workshops, awareness campaigns, and collaborative art projects, students apply their skills beyond the classroom, fostering empathy, responsibility, and meaningful community relationships through the power of visual communication.

Skill Enhancement Programs - Colour Grading Workshop

The Colour Grading Workshop is designed to introduce students to the artistic and technical aspects of color correction and enhancement in visual media. Through hands-on training using industry-standard software, students learn how to manipulate color, tone, and mood to elevate the visual storytelling in films, animations, and digital content—enhancing both their creative expression and post-production skills.

Design Hackathon

The Design Hackathon is a fast-paced, collaborative event where students team up to solve real-world design challenges within a limited time frame. It encourages creative thinking, rapid prototyping, and teamwork, allowing participants to apply their design skills in innovative ways. The hackathon nurtures problem-solving abilities, encourages experimentation, and fosters a spirit of design-driven innovation.

NEEHARAM 2025 - A National Winter Art Festival (Painting and Sculpture)

NEEHARAM 2025 is a five-day national art camp and festival that celebrates the richness of visual expression through painting and sculpture. Bringing together students, emerging talents, and established artists from across the country, the event offers a vibrant platform for creative exchange, live demonstrations, installations, and interactive sessions. Held during the winter season, NEEHARAM fosters dialogue, inspiration, and hands-on learning in an immersive artistic environment.

Field Trip - Kochi Biennale 2025-26)

Students will embark on an immersive two-day field trip to the Kochi–Muziris Biennale 2025, South Asia’s premier contemporary art festival, hosted in the historic districts of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry. During this intimate visit, they will experience curated walks through thought-provoking installations, paintings, sculptures, and video art by renowned Indian and international artists. Enriched by guided tours and artist interactions, the trip deepens visual literacy, inspires fresh creative perspectives, and connects classroom learning to the vibrant pulse of global art practice.
